We are specialists in providing on-track plant (OTP) hire, sub-contracting services and labour. provision to rail sites across the UK. Working with leading contractors including Balfour Beatty, Amco, Lundy Projects and Allun Griffiths, we support some of the most prestigious Network Rail, Crossrail and London Underground projects across the UK.
Under our full On-Track Plant Operations Scheme (POS) provision we support a wide range of projects, such as Overhead Line Equipment (OLE), permanent way and civils work. We own over 80 road rail vehicles and a broad range of attachments, employing a 300 strong workforce that includes, POS Supervisors, Crane Controllers, Machine Controllers, Plant Operatives, HGV Drivers and contingent labour, all led by our experienced management team.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for an operationally focussed Business Development Manager (BDM) in the North West of England to enhance the visibility of Total Rail Solutions by expanding our existing customer base, as well as generating and identifying new business leads and opportunities within the rail sector.
Managing own personal project pipeline of new business leads, gaining new accounts to grow Total Rail Solutions’ business and to further enhance and maintain existing portfolio of clients.
Developing client relationships and building key partnerships for long term business growth and the winning of repeat work.
Combining new business activities with a strategic vision for customer engagement, proactively driving the business forward.
Liaising with the Future Works department in ensuring all new leads are followed up.
Actively participating in the tendering process.
Providing on-going and after-sales support to client ensuring client satisfaction and the winning of repeat business.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications and Training:
Strong communicator, persuasive with the ability to develop long lasting client relationships and developing key partnerships.
Commercially driven and astute, has the ability to seek out new business opportunities within the rail sector.
Ability to manage time and priorities.
Strong face to face negotiation and sales skills.
Rail plant experience essential.
